12月4日，亚马逊宣布在其电子商务平台上重新启动CDnow网站
(CDnow. com) 。该网站是美国最著名的在线音乐品牌之一，为客户提
供了超过50万件CD、视频和DVD唱片商品，始终位列在线音乐零售商排
行榜的前五名。CDnovw与全球最大的唱片俱乐部BMG Music Service一
起归入BeMusic公司。网站重启后，客户将使用新CDnow网站购买CD、
DVD和视频，可以享受亚马逊的低价服务，包括订单满25美元享受“超
级省钱免费送货”服务、编辑和客户评论、个性化功能和推荐、“一
键下单”及其他关键功能，以及可靠的运送服务和客户服务。[34

CDnow曾在2000年月被贝塔斯曼音乐集团收购。贝塔斯曼打算将
其旗下的BMG Direct唱片俱乐部合并进一个名为BeMusic的新公司，并
最终将Napster[351添加到新服务中。贝塔斯曼收购CDnovw的费用为

1.17亿美元，这个价格比该公司在1998年4月达到顶峰时的估值下降了
90%以上。

2001年4月，CDnow载员40名 ，占员工总数的106 。2001年8月，
CDnow关闭了其日语网站，并解雇了200名员工。2002年11月，贝塔斯

及有史以来的最低价格，并且我们将继续为客户在全年提供巨大的价
值。”

这一年，亚马示属行中心的软件重写基本完成，大部分商品从下
单到发货的时间最快可以缩短到4小时，而威尔训刚加入亚马进时，这
个时间还要三天。其他电商在2002年同时期的标准是12小时。毫无疑
间，物流的改善成为亚马逊的竞争利器。亚马进还推出了支付额外费
用可以陋天、两天或者三天送达的服务，这给客户带来了更多的选
