沃克和耶格已经开始着手解决“流入”的问题， 就是减少无
家可归的新增人口数量。出于你所能想到的所有原因，这是一个相当
棘手的问题，但他们已经找到了一个切入点: 驱逐。在罗克福德市的
一些社区，租客驱逐率高达24%。(\\尘2019年年初，该市开展了一个试
点项目，(寺在租客即将被房东驱逐的情况下，政府会充当租客与房东
的中间人。在某些情况下，市政府会为房东和租客协商一项新的付款
方案， 旬有时，市政府会为租客支付租金。相比等到这些租客沦落至
无家可归再来重新安置他们，支付一两个月的房租显然要划算得多。
耶格的报告称，该试点项目使因驱逐而无家可归的人数减少了30%。
